TAG Certification

JICWEBS is working closely with the US-based Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) to align standards across the two markets. We have a shared goal of delivering ‘global standards for local markets’.

We can support you with TAG Certification, as well as its Certified Against Malware and Certified Against Piracy initiatives (see below for details).  TAG’s Certified Against Fraud programme will be adopted in the UK from January 2019 and will replace our current Anti Ad Fraud scheme. You can read more here.

CERTIFIED AGAINST FRAUD

TAG launched its Certified Against Fraud programme in 2016 to combat invalid traffic in the digital advertising supply chain. The programme has been shown to be an effective tool in reducing fraudulent invalid traffic in the digital advertising supply chain. The 2017 TAG Fraud Benchmarking Study, conducted by The 614 Group, found that the use of TAG Certified distribution channels for digital advertising cut the IVT rate to 1.48 percent across more than 6.5 billion display and video impressions, reducing the level of fraud by more than 83% compared to the broader industry average.
This programme replaces the JICWEBS Anti Ad Fraud Good Practice Principles as the Anti Fraud Standard for the UK market from January 2019.

TAG REGISTRY

What is the TAG Registry?

The TAG Registry is a list of legitimate partners in the digital advertising supply chain. This voluntary registry identifies legitimate participants in the digital advertising ecosystem, enabling companies to feel confident that they are doing business only with such partners and avoiding association with criminal activity throughout the entire supply chain.

What does TAG Registration involve?

TAG validates each applicant company’s identity and legitimacy through a proprietary background check and review process. Approved companies will receive a “TAG Registered” seal and a unique identifier (the ‘TAG ID’) enabling them to identify their ads to partners across the digital supply chain.

CERTIFIED AGAINST MALWARE

The Mission of the TAG Certified Against Malware Programme is to eliminate the distribution of malware throughout the digital advertising supply chain.

The Certified Against Malware Programme is open to participation by buyers, direct sellers and intermediaries across the digital advertising ecosystem, as well as vendors. Requirements to achieve the TAG “Certified Against Malware” Seal differ according to a company’s role in the supply chain.

CERTIFIED AGAINST PIRACY

TAG launched its Certified Against Piracy Program in 2015 to help advertisers and ad agencies avoid damage to their brands from ad placement on websites and other media properties that facilitate the distribution of pirated content and counterfeit products.  Today, the Certified Against Piracy Program is open to participation by buyers, direct sellers and intermediaries across the digital advertising ecosystem.  Buyers and sellers can now choose from a market of anti-piracy service providers whose services have been “Certified Against Piracy,” as well as earning the certification themselves.
